Eaton 2-0
On a fine sunny day at Glen Huon Reserve Eaton defeated Margaret River on Sunday with two late goals.
Both teams made changes from their previous line ups with Margaret River having players unavailable and Eaton having players returning from injury.
A hard fought bottom of the table clash saw both sides attacking from the start with Margaret River having the best of the first fifteen minutes but unable to put the ball in the net . Eaton then came to the fore and built some good attacks with the defence linking well with midfield. It was an entertaining end to end attacking first half which ended goalless although River felt that they had a strong appeal for a penalty turned down.
The second half continued much as the first but with Eaton becoming stronger as the half progressed. Eaton looked more likely to score but a goalless draw was on the cards until Dave Rodgers attacking the ball headed down on a cross for Matt Spurling to poke into the net from a metre out in the seventy ninth minute . Spurling returned the compliment five minutes later after a floated free kick from Boubacar Dieme found his head and Rodgers then scrambled the ball into the net. They were two scrappy goals but overall Eaton deserved to win this one with a solid team performance and climb up the table
